i just got my wireless trigger kit

and when taking pictures, there's sort of divide - meaning there is a harsh shadow like it's a box of light.

    picture to follow.

    wtf is going on.

on a light stand bounced off silver umbrella, camera right at around head level:

    i don't think so.

it might have something to do with the TTLi feature on the SB600

i used my 50 and it was perfect...

okay 1/200 is your max flash sync, using povo triggers you're probably pushing it, go down a speed.

It is. On my brother's D80 the fastest I can go is 1/160 with the cactus triggers.

lowering the shutter speed. i'm a fool.

it's surprising how it can create such a dark line like that with a higher shutter

faster speed = more black - proving that it is a sync problem :ugh:

do a search for xsync or flash sync speed and read about how it works and you will know why.

above the sync speed of the camera. your trigger adds to the delay of firing the flash, making things worse.

using nikon cls you can sync right up to the cams max shutter... 1/4000's if I remember correctly.... If you "dont like the pop up flash" then set it to -- so it wont effect the exposure.

I know with my PW's without running high speed sync on my flash I can't get faster than 1/250 without that happening.
