So I call around 6-7 gunshops in San Diego area and ask them if they sell stripped lower receivers for AR-15s. Half of them stated that they were illegal to sell in California and its illegal to own an AR-15 period. I argued with this one lady over the phone and she kept saying that I can't own an AR-15 at all and its illegal. :hsugh: So anyone from San Diego know of any places that sell them? Thanks.

Best bet is to check a gunshow if you have one coming up soon. I dont really know of anyone that sells stripped lowers around here in IL, but there are always atleast a dozen of them for sale at my FUNshow

Wes is an awesome guy to deal with. I am lucky he is from my hometown and Taft is only a 30min drive.

    But to answer your questions:

    SAN DIEGO, CA
    Royal Loan
    Long Guns - $45 (+ $25 DROS)
Additional Long Guns - $20 ea. Transfer/Same DROS 3033 El Cajon Blvd.
    San Diego, CA 92104
    Phone: (619) 284-2274
    Email: [email protected]

I got this information from www.oldwarshooters.com which is where I got my lower reciever and had it shipped to Wes. This is who he uses too. If you go to the bottom of your page click "FFls on File"
Then scroll down to san diego. You can also check other CA legal items they have. Great people to deal with.

I just called the San Diego Royal Loans and they said that they don't sell stripped lower receivers. But they get them transfered from places up north.

That is was what Coldwarshooters is for. You buy from them and they ship it to the place I told you about. You wouldnt need to do anythign special either as their are already on their file as an FFL.

I think hes talking about the proposal to change the CCR's to add the "capable of accepting, not permanently altered" bit on the definition of detachable magazines. I believe the DOJ ignored everyone at the meeting despite numerous organizations raising valid points and went ahead and approved the changes. I think there is still a lot of debate on the whole definition of "permanent" and how this coincides with the already existing section of the CCR definition of detachable magazine.

    What...are you serious.

  17. dont wanna read all that but find an ffl in your area and find the OLL compliant lower you want. you buy from the site and arrange for your ffl to send the store a copy of his liscence with his sig. then theyll send the lower to him. you meet up dude right after you buy and arrange for the lower to be sent to your ffl, then you sign some papers etc. wait 10 days and pick it up

Calguns used to be great, it was the only place you would hear about the DOJ going to out of state gun shows to record CA license plates for later searches, or the DOJ's infiltration and possible administration of another CA gun law forum, or the DOJ unlawfully seizing OLL's and so on. Calguns is still probably the best resource out there right now, but with all the administration issues things have been getting worse over there. Seems like all of the sub forums get pruned every few days so things that happened more than a week ago are long gone.

AFAIK, they didnt actually go ahead and do anything, and the CCRs are still the same way there were.
