    I am pretty good about doing proper stretches (light stretching before, more intense stretching after lifting), but there is this place on my back that has been tight and sore for about 10 days.

    with such a small area i'd say its just a little knot in the muscle, i get em all the time from sleeping the wrong way on my arms... you can work them out by getting somebody to dig in there with their knuckles. it hurts like a bitch but after a few mins it loosens up

    it's a trigger point probably in your rhomboid or trapezius

    Thanks Ceaze, and nice AV. That is one of the most clasic hip hop albums of all time. There isn't a bad track on that thing... It's been a few weeks since I listened to it, so I think I'll give it another listen.

    Pretty much exactly how it sounds. Use a tennis ball and place it on your back while leaning against a wall. Slowly push into the problem area and move your back in a circular motion to work out a knot or sore spot.

    It hurts while you're doing it, but it works wonders.

    cool. I'm going to do it right now if I can find my tennis balls.

    hmmm that does hurt, but it made it feel a little better. How many times a day can I do this?

    holy shit... i've been trying to figure out what that part of my back that was for months now. my head college football trainer didnt even know what it was. i've been having the same problem.
