I'm stressed out about a lot of shit, but mainly the ticket I got for having too many people at my house (PARTY!). 400 bucks of fun is what I owe to my great city.

Question: Working out help me get some of this stress out of my system? I have heard it helps?

for me, i dont feel that it actually does anything to my stress.. rather, it gives me something else to think about instead of letting the stressful situation replay in my head

:werd: Cardio is the best for that thing. It gives you time to think shit over, plus it releases endorphins, so it has a positive effect on what you're thinking about.

Man it sure helps me. Being able to channel your stress and occasional anger into something that is physically tangible is awesome.

I love running when I'm stressed out. By the time I get home, I don't even remember what I was upset about.

Working out definately helps you through stressful situations. Back when I was taking Tae Kwon Do, I always felt better after a class no matter what the problem was.

Same, I always feel like shit and worrying about school before I go to wrestling practice. But when I'm in wrestling, those two hours are my time to think solely about wrestling. I don't think about anything else, its like a little getaway from all the troubles in life (although the worse part is when the practice is over and you come back to reality).

That's true; but even though I had problems to deal with, I always felt a little better about them after a strenuous workout.

I'd have probably killed myself by now if it wasn't for the gym.

Wrestling was my stressor more then my stress reliever, I always use to think when it's 8th period "fuck he's gonna make us run like 100 sprints today"

LOL yeah, I'm not saying wrestling practice was easy breezy or anything. It was still hell! But the one thing I'm glad it did was take my mind off everything, literally, and only focus on the pain I was in. Which I didn't mind when you had a lot of crap going on in your life.

When wrestling season was over, I felt like my life was given back to me. All those endless days of 3 hour practices and getting home at like 7, then knowing I had two hours to do what ever I wanted and then go to bed, and then get up and do it all over again, and when it was friday I had to go to bed early because I had running practices where we ran 5 or more miles and 60+ sprints on a saturday morning, God, it was hell
