Just wondering if anyone has any exercises, articles, or general info for strengthing ankles?

I injured my ankle a while ago and now it is getting to that point where it feels great (i'd say 95% at this point). But I DO have a tendency to twist my ankle and I'd like to avoid any further injury. On top of the strengthening the ligaments, tendons, etc. to avoid lateral sprains, I feel that the back of my ankle is weak. Basically, the achillees.

    Any help is appreciated.

get some surgical tubing, hold the ends in your hands with the loop down under your toes and do as perscribed above (alphabet)... the tubing gives you some resistance. also, you cand tie the tubing in a circle, put one end around a solid table leg and the other around your toes stand far enough to put tension on the tubing and pull in/push out with your ankle in a abduction/induction movement to strengthen your ankles. I had to do lots of this in HS as i was prone to ankle sprains durring B-Ball season...

do standing calf raises with moderate weight and focus on slow movements with the ankles alone, and just be careful the day after for a bit ... it helps a bit, plus what they're saying above
