Straps

    When is it too early to start using straps? I'm not hitting my back as hard as I can because my grip and forearm strength is kind of pathetic, but at the same time I'm not pulling big numbers. I do work my forearms, but I could probably add 30-40+ to my deadlift and 20+ to bent rows with straps. Is that even worth it or should I just continue training like normal?

    don't use them until your forearms are just freaking dead then throw them on

    My opinion is do not bother yet or you will never build up your grip. But what the fuck do I know?

    Yeah, I rarely use straps to improve grip but my main focus is football specific, rather than trying to look good.

    If it's limiting your back work, use them now.

    If your goal is to train your back, why would you let grip strength get in the way?

    he's talking about lifting straps, not a fuckin strap on

    unless you're competing for something that involves grip or a meet that doesnt let you use straps, who gives a shit.

    Thanks for the input. I train my forearms and grip so I'll give them a shot and see how it goes.

    I don't use them until my grip starts to fail, but that's by personal preference. Also, when doing back exercises i will try to not wrap my thumb around the bar when I pull so i can train my grip at the same time. :dunno:
