strange pc display problem

    ok, installed a new video card and plugged it into the monitor, nothing at all, tried going back to the original onboard display and there was nothing there. tried to flash the bios, nothing, powersuply is fine, hard drive is fine, ram is properly installed. any ideas?

    how did you flash the bios if you didn't have any display?
    what brand and type of card are we talking about here, also what motherboard.
    did you enable you cmos to select the new card instead of the one on board?

    i actually didn't do it my friend did, they moved the jumpers, and then took out the battery. its an ati card on a compaq computer

    That's not flashing the BIOS, that's resetting the BIOS. 2 completely different things.

    Silly question, did you try a different monitor or putting your monitor on a different PC?
    If monitor doesn't show up with the new card or the old, make sure the monitor is still ok, never assume that it is. I've seen monitors work fine one minute. Shut down for whatever reason, turn it back on and nothing.
