I am posting this on behalf of a friend of mine.. who neither of us can find a solution for this issue..

My theory is that the processor could be bad.. He originally bought the processor as a 1.2GHz.. and when he installed it, it would only install to 800MHz... he called them, they offered no refund.. Now he's trying to "overclock" to the original speed, and its failing. My theory is that the manufacturer knew it wouldn't perform at 1.2, so they downgraded and sold it.

    Anyone have any thoughts?
