I want to have my aperature preset so that everytime i upload the files, they'll be stored on my external drive, and only accessable from there---taking up no space on my hard drive, except the software itself. is this possible, or should ij ust export all my pictures after im done in aperature? i felt like that would still leave a lot of stuff on my comp.
    Thanks.

yeah you can have the library reside wherever you like.

you should be able to just move the library then point to it on the external using this in the pref pane:

Or move the actual apature library to your external hard drive (saveing the photos in the library) and create an alias that is linked to that library and open via that alias. I have it setup on my computer with 5 libraries with alias's linking to each on my desktop. Just click to open the one i want to use.
