The key to these tests is doing them. I know it sounds stupid, but when I was training for the 225 rep test for the combines, I thought benchpressing as much as possible would make me do better on the test. It helped a little, but I did 31 when i was benching 405 and 38 at 505. Not all that great of an improvement. If I would have trained the test more i would have done much better. Think of it like this, if you were training for a pl meet, would you expect to bench mor by doing as many reps at 225 as you could?

I would start using crossfit if i were you. At least for your weight routine. It maps well to military style conditioning

:werd: you need to train for your goal using the same exercise. That is why you don't train bench using crap like kickbacks.

They don't actually test us in pushup's (their philosophy is that pullups are a better judge of upperbody strength), but i'll still have to do hundreds of pushups on a daily basis, so i'm still going to do the program since it's only 10 days long.
