I discovered that my steering wheel (vinyl, I think) is kinda peeling. The smooth outer covering is rubbing away at the bottom of the wheel, exposing the inside spongy part of the steering wheel. Any suggestions on how to either repair it, or keep it from continuing to rub off?

I already tried a steering wheel cover, it looks :greddy: I can't stand those things...

You are probably going to have to replace it. If your car has airbags, it won't be cheap. If not, pick up an aftermarket one.

Other than a cover, there isn't much you can do. You can check Hemmings to see if there are any companies that can refinish it.

I actaully ended up finding a nice cover online. It's leather, but you have to lace it permanently onto the wheel, as opposed to the others where you just stretch it over. It should work out well, we'll see when it arrives.
