Steam.firewall question

    im at work and my internet connection is firewalled, no proxy

    and i cant get steam to connect

    ive tried a couple programs: hopster, v-tunnel, SOCKScap

    but im nub and i dont know how to configure them to get it to connect

    wheres geek squad when you need them..

    and help?

    You probably are using a transparent proxy, but that's beside the point. You may be able to get steam to connect using an ssh tunnel, but it will be useless because you more than likely won't be able to play any games. You need open ports to be able to connect to game servers and you can't really tunnel that traffic.
