i did a CKD from winter through summer.. calories were pretty low, maybe 2000ish with high protein intake. my routine was a standard 5 day split, no cardio.

recently, i switched it up and i'm a little worried about how quickly the weight is coming up. my diet now consists of the following:

breakfast: 4-5 egg whites, 1 yolk. 1 serving of cheese. 1 serving of spinach. some days i'll throw in some turkey breast or tomatoes and/or an orange or apple.

snack: 1 scoop low carb protein, 1/2 serving oats, 1/2 serving lowfat yogurt, 1/2 cup mixed berries

lunch: 1/2 lb lean meat (salmon, chicken breast, or 96% lean beef), spinach, broccoli, carrots, 1 tbsp olive oil

    snack: same shake as above.

workout: 2 servings powerade during, 1 serving powerade+1 scoop ON whey after

post workout meal/dinner: lean meat (same as above), some form of veggie (asparagus, squash, etc.), some form of carbs (usually quinoa or beans)

i'll give myself two cheat meals per week (usually friday and saturday night)

i also swithced up my workout from a 5 day split to:

    monday: lower body
    tuesday: hiit - 14 mins (30s intense, 90s relaxed)
    wednesday: upper body
    thursday: hiit - 14 mins (60s intense, 60s relaxed)
    friday: full body
    saturday: hiit - 18 mins (90s intense, 180s relaxed)

heart beat stays in the 170-180 range throughout cardio. workouts are pretty brisk too, i'm in and out in about 45 minutes resting roughly 60seconds between sets.

supplements are the basics: 10-12 fish oil caps, joint support, multi, creatine.

my weight gain hasn't been that extreme.. maybe 5 lbs in the past two weeks.. it's more the pants starting to get tight that i'm worried about. i don't mind gaining weight, gaining anything around the stomach is a concern though.

so here's my question.. is what i'm seeing typical of someone coming off of ketosis?

Maybe it is the change in carbs...what are your macros at now? How many more calories are you getting in? Whats your bodyfat, weight?

I gain two pounds overnight on a cheat day. :mamoru:

slowly adding water? Carb sensitivity gets a bit fucked on really low carbs.

increased carbs = increased glycogen storage = more water stored

Yeah your previous is really low in carbs. You could try a Timed Carbs diet. Got this article from Timbers log, not sure if he tried it yet. I'm doing it right now and it seems to work. I'm taking in around 150g carbs on workout days and still in Ketosis. All carbs are taken after lifting only.

i noticed today i was totally fucking up on the creatine dosing as well. i had been dosing in tablespoons when i should have been taking teaspoons. i do stupid shit like this all the time :uh:

anyway, i'm not gonna sweat it too much. gonna keep pushing forward and see what i can do. i've been relying too much on synthetic protein sources for far too long, it feels good to go back to basics.

What they said.. Going back to carbs after severe low carbing for a few months, I experienced the same.
