I figured this was the most appropriate place to post this. When I go to sleep, I try to get 7-8 hours and in the morning I would say I feel decent, considering not many people wake up whistling and wide awake. I go to class which always seems like an eternity. 1:15 classes are dreadfull. My problem is I can not seem to get off this napping kick, as soon as I get home I usually always end up falling asleep for an hour or 2 between 4 and 9pm, and it hate it because then I just feel lazy and don't want to do anything the rest of the night. Any tips on avoiding naps, or even just feeling more motivated during the day?

Just make a choice not to nap and find something to do. 21 days later will you forget you even took naps.

Create a daily schedule and block in something to do during that time.

I know I am much more alert and active all day if I work out first thing in the morning.

this was actually a problem for me and i can tell you right now - exercise -

i dont know if you do it a lot, but it really does help. i used to play world of warcraft :mamoru: alot and i would literally come home to play that game and go to sleep just cause i was burnt out all the time. but then i started working out and for the first few days you just take monster naps just from being burnt out from youre workouts. pretty mcuh after that though I had lots of energy and was easy to do things with out getting sleepy even when im bored to the core. it even takes me some effort to fall asleep :o i dont take in any caffeine either

and hey man if you have a lot of free time and are a bit chubby, its also a good way to lose some fat *although you have to be consistent about it*

errr well it may vary from person to person so heres just another piece of advice: dont put yourself in a situation where you CAN fall asleep (ie. watching a movie, sitting in your room, etc.) go take a drive or go to a public place or workout where you wouldnt imagine falling asleep or something of the sort

What is your height, weight and neck size. I'm asking because I was falling asleep driving and at work until I was diagnosed with sleep apnea. A cpap machine has literally saved my life!! Do you snore? I've lost 20 pounds here lately and my energy levels are through the roof.

Try and keep yourself busy to avoid taking the naps. I totally fuck up my sleep even if I fall asleep for like 20 minutes during the day. I've fallen out of my computer chair and just end up asleep on the floor sometimes.

I tend to do better when I don't eat as many carbs and when I have stuff to do all day. I'll even go to the library and study just to keep myself up.

Than more than likely you do not have sleep apnea. It's mostly common in overweight people or people's whose necks are larger than 18". I would say to clean up your diet and eat low glycemic carbs only and start doing some cardio 4 or 5 times per week.
