Okay. So, after much griping and complaining, and a ton of research, I'm finding out that my state, MS, is taxing my Re-enlistment bonus. :squint: Srsly. This is crap. The Feds take their 28% off of the top to begin with. Why can't MS? Srsly. :squint:

    /Rant

Are there any states that charge state taxes that DO NOT tax Military Bonuses? Just curious.

One of the guys from our old squad was from MI and he said they didn't tax any military pay.

see if you are exempt from state tax being an out of state military member. I got all of my ny state tax back each year when I was a ny resident.

    certain states do it

FL has no income tax at all. I made myself a FL resident on my deployment R&R (was planning on moving back there but idk now). Illinois has an income tax but with a military exemption

Illinois doesnt have an army license plate though but they have one for every other branch and reserves. Not that I'd get one but still

If you can get WA, it is even better. No mil taxes, no out of state tickets.

    Have WA license?
    Get ticket in another state?
No worries, pay ticket and smile.
WA won't put points on license unless the ticket comes from WA.
