    TODAY IS MONDAY 11/17/2008

THERE ARE SOME IMPORTANT THINGS GOING ON IN THE INDUSTRY. I KNOW THE FOLLOWING IS WORDY BUT READING IT MAY HELP YOU DECIDE WHETHER TO BUY NOW.

OKAY - HERE IS THE DEAL

LAST WEEK WE SOLD OUT VIRTUALLY TO THE BARE WALLS. WE HAD A TON OF INVENTORY LAID IN AND STOCKPILED IN ANTICIPATION OF THE PANIC BUYING THAT WOULD BE CREATED BY THE ELECTION. IT SIMPLY WAS NOT ENOUGH. IF IT SHOOTS OR HOLDS ROUNDS OF AMMO IT PRETTY MUCH LEFT HERE LAST WEEK.
I HAVE NEVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE IT.

AROUND WEDNESDAY OF LAST WEEK WE CHANGED OUR FOCUS FROM SELLING, TO TRYING TO BEG, BUY AND SCROUNGE ANYTHING WE COULD PURCHASE. IT WAS VERY DIFFICULT. MOST OF THE INDUSTRY IS EITHER OUT OF SEMI-AUTO FIREARMS, MAGS, AND AMMO, OR THEY HAVE PUSHED THE PRICE WAY UP IN ORDER TO SLOW SALES AND KEEP FROM BEING WHERE WE BASICALLY ARE NOW. SOLD OUT TO THE BARE WALLS. THE LARGEST IMPORTER IN THE COUNTRY AS OF LAST MONDAY HAS SUSPENDED SALES OF ALL OF THEIR HI-CAPACITY MAGAZINES AND RAISED PRICES ON ENTIRE CLASSES OF FIREARMS BY 25% TO 40% ACROSS THE BOARD. THE PRICE INCREASE IS REALLY IRREVALENT HOWEVER AS THEY HAVE NO AVAILABLE QUANTITIES ON ANY OF THESE FIREARMS.

LET ME GIVE YOU SOME PERSPECTIVE.
IN THE THIRD QUARTER OF THIS YEAR, ( JULY THRU OCTOBER )
    WE SOLD THE FOLLOWING
    7.62X39 AMMO................361 CASES
    AK 30 RD MAGS.....................................783
AK RIFLES (ALL TYPES ) .........................243

BY COMPARISON, IN THE 10 DAYS SINCE THE ELECTION WE HAVE SOLD

    7.62X39 AMMO................1218 CASES
    AK 30 RD MAGS.....................................3855
AK RIFLES (ALL TYPES ) .........................572
THAT IS IN ADDITION TO THE AR RIFLES, GOLANI RIFLES, TANTALS, AND OTHER FIREARMS THAT HAVE ALSO SOLD LIKE WILDFIRE.
SOME OF OUR LARGER DEALER CUSTOMERS HAVE BEEN ATTEMPTING TO PLACE ORDERS FOR HUNDREDS OF FIREARMS WITH US WHEN WE ONLY HAD DOZENS IN STOCK.

WE ARE VERY SMALL AND THESE ARE HUGE NUMBERS FOR US. WE WOULD HAVE SOLD MORE TOO EXCEPT WE SIMPLY COULD NOT ANSWER ALL THE CALLS, AND THEN WE SOLD OUT.

THE GOOD NEWS IS WE HAVE HAD SOME SUCCESS IN BUYING. WE PURCHASED PRODUCT ANYWHERE WE COULD FIND IT WITHOUT MUCH REGARD FOR THE PRICE. IT WAS ALL WE KNEW TO DO. IT WAS EITHER THAT OR BE SOLD OUT AND CLOSE THE DOORS.

WE ARE POSTING BELOW THE THINGS THAT WE HAVE AVAILABLE FOR SALE. SOME OTHER ITEMS WILL BE COMING ON BOARD OVER THE NEXT SEVERAL DAYS AND WE WILL POST THEM UP AS THEY ARRIVE. THE PRICES ARE HIGHER . I CAN'T APOLIGIZE FOR THAT. IN MOST CASES WE ARE PAYING MORE AND MAKING LESS. IF YOU NEED THESE ITEMS AND CAN FIND THEM FOR LESS ELSEWHERE, I ENCOURAGE YOU TO GET THEM.

I HOPE AGAINST HOPE THAT THIS MARKET WILL LEVEL BACK OUT SOON, BUT WITH BANS AND RESTCTIONS BEING ONE OF THE PRIMARY STATED GOALS OF THIS NEW ADMINISTRATIONS I JUST DON'T SEE IT HAPPENING.

I'm kicking myself for buying a glock instead of an AR a few months ago. :sad2: I knew this would happen, too. I think we all did, just not on this level. These past two weeks have been absolutely insane. Every dealer has their phones ringing off the hook, every store has bare walls and empty shelves, every major website is completely out of product and backordered for months.

I'm hoping there's enough time for a few more big production runs by the manufacturers. It's basically now or never.

I'm hoping Obama won't fuck with gun control for the first year or so and prices will go back down and places will fill up with stock again. :hs: Can't count on anything right now, though.

I've heard that demand is not being fulfilled as manufacturers are not producing anything. They shut down factories at the end of the year for maintenance and retooling and should start back up in January sometime. At least, that's what the local gun store owner tells me.

I'd take anything the classic arms guy says with a grain of salt. I believe I've seen him try to fan the buying flames with ak's before in the past.

I am done buying for now. I'll wait it out, and if I can't buy anymore and the ban happens, so be it. Not going to be a part of this clusterfuck anymore

Funny he's talking about people raising prices across the board when I've seen his site jump prices by about $50 twice in the last 3 weeks....

edit- and ditto that dpixel. I'm pretty sure I have everything I need although a few parts kits would be cool. I'm guessing those wont' get as scarce as quickly as the rest though, or at least hoping.

This may be a longshot, but heres what I see happening over the next few months.

The marketplace will be flooded with these weapons as importers/manufacturers try to meet current levels of demand, but demand is diminishing because alot of the market has already bought what they want.

The same thing happened with gas here about a month and a half ago. There was "word" on the news that we may experience a shortage. Everybody goes out and buys gas whenever they can, tops off their tank at $3.75 a gallon. Stations try to meet demand, market gets flooded, gas goes to $1.87 a gallon.

I'm surprised this buying spree took place this far before Obama even takes office. He can't do anything as president elect, and he sure as shit isn't going to try and ban guns within his first year of presidency. It's funny how people are freaking out right now. I can't wait until prices on this shit drops to record lows because the market gets flooded before January

the only thing I really need right now (and always will) is ammo. But I refuse to pay these prices. I'll just shoot 10/22 for the forseeable future.

Finishing up my 2 AK kit builds, and the only other thing I want is a Saiga, but fuckit if I can't get one. This is just craziness, and i'll feel like a fucking fool when in March and the ban hasn't happened, prices go down.

Yeah dont even have my AK with me in my apt anymore. I took it to my parents house and my dad and I hid it away with ~300 rounds of ammo in mags. I'm so glad I bought it when I did, but there is no use having it around if I can't afford to shoot it. :hs:
