State Bodybuilding & Figure Championship ***PICS

I'm gonna go check it out tonight after work. I've never been to a show before so it should be cool. I don't imagine one here will be very big, but we'll see. Are you normally allowed to take pictures at these shows?

No one likes my threads. :hs:

Well I'll post up some of the pics if there's any interest. My camera doesn't have an optical zoom, so they are not very good quality.

This guy is a pro, can't remember his name. He was out signing shirts and it was the first time I've been up close to 300lbs of muscle, it was alot different than seeing on TV. He was huge.

Cool stuff. They ARE fairly small, except that last guy. Timber could probably have won that, don't you think? :dunno:

Yeah, there really aren't that many competitors up here I don't think. There were a few that were impressive though. Timber would put most of them to shame definition wise. There was an 18 yr old that looked awesome, and the guy on the left was huge.

That pro guy didn't compete, he was just a guest. Here he is in the audience

This lady was also a guest, she's competes in alot of the big shows.

Ya you're right the guy on the left is pretty big. The guys at the right look fairly small though.

How do those work? Are they like the figure shows, but for men?

Sort of. It's a bodybuilding/fitness how, so there's going to be the body building part and then the fitness part. This time the fitness part is basically a swim suit competition (top 12). The guys judge the girls, the girls judge the guys, it's more for fun than anything.

Good motivation to be in awesome shape for summer.

Yeah but do the men compete in the fitness part? I thought that's what you meant anyway.

Ahhh, no the fitness and the body building segments have seperate competitors. For the fitness comp you wear board shorts not the banana hammock and you dont have to be as lean as the bodybuilders.

That'd be kinda cool, I'd do that if I ever gained some weight. Another thing that suprised me was the whole tanning deal. I know they need to be dark to show definition up on stage, but out in the lobby up close, the competitors look really strange. Really dark & un-natural looking. How long does that stuff last for?

    Oh, and some more pics.

My buddy has done two bodybuilding comps and the bronzer was pretty much all gone after he went home and took a shower and came back out to kick it.

The stuff looks real orangeish up close.

Well that isn't too bad I guess. I was just thinking that would really suck to go around like that for a few days. Yeah they were really orange up close. This one white chick looked darker the black chick that was competing.

well you start applying coats 1-3 days before to get it think depending on how much protan you need. usually takes like a week or two to completly come off.
