    Hello,

I'm on Windows XP SP2 and nothing seems to be loading at startup. As soon as I type my password in and hit enter only my icons on the desktop load up. Nothing in my sys. tray is loading. Also my CPU is running at 100% constantly. I have left it on for 10 minutes hoping it would go back to normal but no such luck. I'm on a Dell D610 Pentium M, 512MB ram. Because of my CPU running at 100% I can't load anything at all. My computer is seriously running like the comps in 1982. Any help would be appreciated. I really do not wish to format it because I haven't backed up my files. Thanks guys.

I went into Safemode and it's the same thing. Tried to do a scan but nothing is popping up. The computer is just way too slow. HELP!

Yup, put it in as a slave drive and scan with a few programs at least. Also check for overheating (failed fan?), but its most likely not that.
