    Hey whatup all!

finally getting my tat started with craig driscoll in SD

My brother is going to get same exact tattoo. We have been planning to get a family tattoo for a while to symbolize our fam and the fact we are best friends and brothers.

my main question should me and my bro have some differences in the tattoo or should we get the same thing? Do some people consider that lame?

i know where a family with 8 or 9 people have the same exact tattoo in the same spot... i think its cool because they all have it.

basically same thing as a name...
kids/brothers/parents - its fine to have done
    SO/Friends - dont do it

Talk to Craig about it and find out what his thoughts are on it. I'm sure he'll give you really good input.

Can't wait to see the goods!

its a winged lion by the way, representing italian royalty. my fams from italy. the eagle is the best of the air and the lion the best/king of land.

also threw in the skull.. kinda symbolism.. being the best i can be in the face of any evil.

Yeah, I hit him up on Myspace and got a response. The tour is somewhat impromptu, so he doesn't know when exactly he'll be here.

Should've just had the current work wrap around, duder!

Is he pretty quick? How long did all that take?

Not gonna lie, i got there at 12, and didnt evne start getting tatted till about 5-6ish :hs:

Then did about 3 hour sit for that. But it was really ~2.5 or so i think.

Once he gets moving he is quick.

I was gonna have work wrap around but just how he drew it it ended up like that. Its cool though, it leaves enough room for me to put something cool inside the waterfall area... ?

What took so long to actually get started? Did he have something drawn out or did he draw it straight onto your arm?

    He is fucking fast. Jesus.

Yeah, just keep going back to him if you plan on getting something in that upper portion of the arm so the styles will match up.

Shit's shaping up to be fresh, son.

    thanks man.

    as far as time before...
shootin the shit. friends comin thru. drawing it out. drinking. eating etc
it was all good though. hes good peoples and the shop is fuckin dope. the only lightweight wack part is its in like 'the gay area' of san diego. lol, i was out there in a turqoise shirt and got hit on by like 3-4 dudes, i was just sitting there like :wtf: until i found out it was san diegos version of the castro.

I am definitely gonna have the inner filled in by him, probably on my 2nd or 3rd sit. But since hes on that bus tour, i have time to think about it. Theres not a lot of space. but definitely enough for somethin cool.

Is 2.5-3 hours pretty fast for the work i have done right now? I felt like he was kinda rushin it at the end because it was getting late. My brother actually got done first, from about 6-9. Then i got done from about 930-1230. By around 12 he was stressin off his wifey etc. I didnt want him to be rushin through it anyway.

by the way there is a sun shining at top. Its gonna go through the other wing and shit, so he left that kinda blank to get colored in.

Im actually kinda amazed that a lot of people have been telling me to keep it black and white. I dunno bout that though... its craig driscoll.. gotta get the color!!!!

Yeah, his shop is arguably one of the best shops in the fucking country. They had this huge opening party where all these "famous" people showed up like Danny Way, Rob Dyrdek, and a bunch of other people. Did you go?

Yeah, dude…Driscoll is KNOWN for his amazing color work and you’d be doing yourself a disservice if you didn’t get the vibrant colors he’s capable of on your skin type.

Most of those people who probably are telling you to keep it black and white probably don't have a whole lot of experience with tattoos. Most likely, they think it looks fine as it is. They just don't realize how far this tattoo is going to come from session to session. You'll trip out as it progresses! I'm pumped for you!

And now I kick myself even harder for not going to see him when he was in Ottawa. :squint:
