Me and a few friends started doing muay thai training a couple days a week. Just looking for some kind of weightlifting routine or anything that we can do other than the training classes for extra help.

You may want to look at various boxing routines since it's similar. Jump roping appears to be a staple.

Lots of jumping rope. Olympic lifts are good, in particular one handed snatches are good for punching power.

Overall though, plyometric work will be your friend.

Powercleans, jump rope, box jumps, core movements, lunges, hanging leg raises.

core strength is absolutely imperitive to powerful kicks. lots of core work and full body stuff that works core stability.

Lift however you want, IMO it's not going to change much from my experience.... BUT, it's incredibly important that you spend more time per week on bagwork, shadowboxing, and other boxing/MT training than you do on weights. Those are the best things for conditioning yourself to be a good striker IMO, and when you use weights as a primary conditioning tool you'll see your striking skills decrease.

oh, and even though it's more for wrestling/mma conditioning, definitely throw in some barbell complexes. The type of conditioning in MT that I felt was more effective in improving my sparring was the heavier conditioning like this rather than just running.

A lot of MT places will have you do bodyweight circuits, you'll get a similar effect from those... and often times they're even harder.

    .

Never underestimate the effectiveness of bodyweight circuits for sports, and especially striking sports.

That reminds me, I haven't done barbell complexes in awhile, I should do that tommorow.

Freddie Espiricueta better than any fighter at Saekson's. What are u smoking crack.

Sorry Archangel but Freddies not better than any of Saekson's fighter. He's never fought Anthony, Jason house, or Anthony's little brother Chidi...So when he fights one of them...beats them then you can say he's better and which we all know he's going to get his ass kick'd by those guys...their the best strikers in Dallas.
