Heading down there with itr452 tonight
take advil before you go. It'll make getting thrown a lot less painful when you get home.
learn how to fall correctly. seriously
Tuck your chin in.
Don't stick your arm out while your being thrown and trying to land on it.
it's going to suck for the first little while, but it'll help your jiu jitsu game, nigface.
I hope you have an ice pack
Where are the classes being held?
are you guys really that afraid of judo? i don't get it i didn't think it was any worse than wrestling
chin tuck, body relaxed.
edit: what shooto said
wrestling you fall down slowly more..
judo is more BAMMMM BAMM tastic
noobs in judo hurt you. they dont throw you in a peaceful way

Shit was fun tonight! It was pretty slow but that's to be expected because you have to learn the basics. I think the hardest part for me right now is constantly keeping my chin tucked in when I'm trying to break a fall. Same thing goes with falling back without my arms out.
It takes a little getting use to but overall I enjoyed it. itr452 took it easy on me and didn't throw me like crazy but the guys are nice and there's no attitude so that's always a good thing.
I saw the guys and shit they're so fucking explosive with their throws and takedowns
Cool, thanks for the info. Maybe I'll check it out in the next month or so. Are you gonna start going there regularly?
glad you enjoyed it
If your joints start to hurt take cod oil, i find it helps my joints
Your first 6 months you will get hurt on your falls because you are firstly still learning to breakfall but you also havn't developed your 'judo armour' which is kind of like a resistance to getting thrown. Instead of feeling like you got smashed, it becomes a dull thud of pain on your body.
I think boxers have something similar, like when they first got hit it hurt, but now when they get hit its just a blunt pain.
and Breakfall breakfall breakfall
itr452 is there regularly
I just started tonight and since my membership at Dynamic ran out I'm going to go to Judo more often. I'll basically be subbing the lack of bjj with Judo for awhile.
It's either I re-sign at bjj for ~$150/month or go with Judo @ $25/month. Judo is ~5 minutes away from my house. Dynamic is ~20-30 minutes away. The mats at Judo are wicked awesome too! Its really a no brainer
That's a great price for $25/month
i couldn't help it, the inner judo whore in me compels me to get eg6's ass out there. I'm going to start going more often. I miss judo a LOT!
my knees are as screwed as they'll ever be, so i might as well embrace it
$25/month is pretty damn awesome i must agree, but those monkeys raised the price from $20.......... im not impressed
Ill join your crew of screwed knees (drop seio nage gone wrong) and raise you crippling joint pain... oh wait all judoka have that
i got my mcl torn b/c of a fucked up tani otoshi.
3 pops later, and a loud scream, i couldn't walk for 2 months, best months spent at home EVER!
judos the shit wrestling take downs scare the crap out of me
