Sup guys..this forum isn't too active but i'll throw this in there anyways. I'm looking to start a blog with a custom domain using the wordpress or blogger framework. I'm a n00b to web design and coding but I have a decent design eye/know how (adobe products). I don't really wanna use a theme designed by someone else and would rather modify the basic Wordpress one. I have no idea how to do this and I'm just looking for a clean, simple design that is very picture friendly. Good starting points?

Find a theme that fits your objectives.

Call out elements that can't be changed.

Call out elements that can be changed.

    Modify said changeable elements.

Alright, I think the best thing for you to do is to find a theme that closely resembles the wireframe you designed. If it's off a few pixels, or needs a new element, that's okay. You can just modify the HTML/CSS files when needed.

However, you will need to start from scratch if you have your own design that you plan on splicing up.

Yeah. To be honest the default theme works just fine generally speaking. All I would need to do is figure out how to make that 2nd bar below the header. I assume that changing fonts is relatively easy..
