I started to go to gym 3-4 days a week and light cardio 2-3 times a week 2 weeks ago but I am noticing i m putting on weight instead of losing. I have also cut down on food a lot. What gives? Also, can you guys link me to music i can listen to while working out/on treadmill?

They're referred to as noob gains.
You're gaining muscle while losing fat, it won't ever happen again without steroids, so enjoy it while it lasts.

Use the mirror for progress rather than the scale.

This seems like a trolling attempt but here you go:

Probably still eating a lot of bad carbs or you're not in a calorie deficit, you didn't really specify much here or even post what your diet looks like.

And as for what music to listen to while working out...just play whatever you like dude. Something to take your mind off running. OR you can try focusing on the pain and just keep thinking about it while you run. The latter work for some but not for others.

There are others who (if they don't tell you to read the very informative stickies) have much more knowledge than I do and will probably give you some help. But really, read the stickies!

thanks for replies. Its hard to describe my diet as i am indian and vegeterian. The food I eat is all prepared fresh daily and would never know what the calorie count is.

I would suggest you find out how many calories you are taking in and how many you are burning.

    Well, there's your problem.

Calories out > Calories in = weight loss

How is your food prepared? Steamed, fried?

are you lifting at all or just doing cardio? if just cardio, your diet is prob shit. You're either not eating clean enough and/or eating too much. Losing weight is all about DIET.
