Started with a dremel and wire wheel, but that wasnt doing much, so i went out today and got some Mothers Mag polish, and dremel polishing compound. Not done yet, I will work on it some more later this week. So far I have just done the exposed metal by the ejection port.

So you actually thought a wire wheel would polish metal? It typically just makes it look scratched all to fuck.

I did that to my G34 awhile ago. Used a dremel and some of their polishing compound.

i just wanted to use it to remove the finish....it was planning on going at it with 800 grit sandpaper after, but i could not find any 800 grit. the dremel compound did a great job of smoothing out scratches.

:/ I did a price drop on that forum because I was getting alot more activity on there. I just copy and pasted the relist after Mike's OT bid fell through. It ended up selling for 330 anyway.

Edit: but I applaud your effort sherlock.

Good luck keeping it from rusting. That's not an XD joke; it's the truth. If it ain't stainless steel, it'll rust. Don't know if the barrel is stainless or not, but if it isn't, well, let's just say this: "And you thought finished XD's had a rust problem; let's see what happens when they're naked."
