My nigga is a trader and told me 3/4 of the country's livestock has been sold off over the last couple weeks. Farms can't afford to keep the cattle. Stores have a surplus of meat right now (just got some Ribeyes for $5/lb down from $14) and in about 3-4 months the prices over everything cow related is gonna go through the roof. Its going to take the country about 2 years to get back to the previous herd size.

    Just a heads up.

I've heard something similar about this, been stocking up on frying oil/rice and other stuff (restaurant business). Thanks for the heads up.

Thanks for the tip. I heard something about this a while back.

I'll have to go to Costco and stack up on 95% lean groundbeef and steak.
Anyone know how long steak can be kept in a freezer before the risk of it going bad or tasting like shit pops up?

Gasoline prices are also being reflected in the price per lbs at the supermarket. Cost of transportation is $$$.

then there's the price for feed (ie. corn) which has been going up because of the demand for biofuels.

but I think this has to do with something else.

I don't eat much meat, but thanks for the heads up..

This won't directly affect chicken, but if people are to switch from red meat to chicken, FUCK.
