yeah wow is almost unstoppable at this point. For me I just love the Star Wars universe and had a blast playing the kotor games so I'm definitely hoping this game will be as good.

Hopefully this will do really well. I'm sorry, but adding two more races to WoW makes it even more of a cluster fuck and isn't enough imo.

I will buy it. There will be 3 very big potential problems though:

    1) Bioware has no MMO experience. I expect a lot of technical problems.

    2) There is NO WAY there will be enough content. With the focus on story-based quests, theres no possible way they will be able to produce enough content, quickly enough.

Look at WoW, they've got the world's biggest staff just churning out quests on a monthly basis and 90% of quests are still just fetch 10/kill 20. Throw in full audio, multi-path dialogue and an overarching storyline...people will have finished everything there is to do in 2 weeks.

    3) Class design. With only 4 classes per faction, grouping will be weak and class roles will be even weaker.

I dont imagine fights will require much (if any) strategy at all. I'm already pissed that WoW has degenerated MMO class roles to Tanking/DPS/healing, and I expect Old Republic to continue that trend.

I expect the solo experience to be top notch though. I feel like Old Republic will basically be like playing KOTOR on xboxlive.

this have a release date or even year yet? i'll buy this and probably be entertained for a month or two but i don't expect it to be as good as WoW, especially with cataclysm coming out.
