    it looks terrible.
kirk looks like he's 12 years old.
the movie looks like dawsons creek meets star trek
it looks so bad it looks like a spoof of a star trek movie

I've been super pissed for awhile because this looks like it'll be awful and they're once again just pissing on star trek and squeezing out a few more bucks out of it's name.

I'm not much of a Trek fan, but I'm actually interested in seeing this.

At first I was thinking it would suck because it is so NOT Star Trek...but the trailers make it look like a badass popcorn movie at least.

considering i think the only plus about Star Trek is Wrath of Kahn (grew up on Star Wars) i'm mildly excited for this.

I have never liked star trek but this is actually the first one that looks somewhat interesting. Plus Eric Bana is in it and I am somewhat of a fan of his movies.

I might enjoy it as a sci fi movie, but to call this thing star trek just seems wrong. they all look like they're 18 years old. it's like the cast of hanna montana is in space.

Saw a cast and crew screening last night at Paramount. It's fucking awesome. Go see it in a good theater with good sound. I'm not a huge trekkie, but this is a great reboot to the franchise.

Just saw this today and I came away very impressed. I am sure that it will have some of the "Trekkies" up in arms but I thought it was a very good movie and look forward to the next one.

I would watch it until my eyes bleed. That was one of the greatest movies I've seen in my entire life. I've never once had an action adventure movie have me on the verge of tears... but it may have something to do with my emotional attachment to Zachary Quinto (Spock).

    That seems most logical.

Man, talk about a movie that surpassed my expectations!
Star Trek was phenomenal. Not only was I the first to clap in the movie theater but I was willing to go see it again on IMAX immediately after it finished.

Can't think of any negatives at the moment... kind of wished it was longer but 2 hours was decent.

saw it last night. pretty fucking awesome. i don't know if my expectation were really low or the movie was just that mind blowing but it was epic. I went to see it late last night out of boredom and came out wanting to see it again and again. might have to find the closest IMAX theater for this

One of the best movies I've ever seen and I have only watched 1 other star trek movie (so i know nothing about it).

JJ Abrahms will be up eventually be known as one of the best directors of all time (only one that may be better would be James Cameron, but we'll see).

Few ?'s about the movie: *SPOILERS****************

Did this movie follow the origianal series/tv show of star trek? I know they went back in time and changed everything, but I was wondering if it was possible for that to have happened and still follow the original story line/progression of star trek? OORRR did JJ make it so all the star trek people are young again and have a totally different future so he can make like 6 more movies with new missions and shit? If so that is genius

Steroids, the latter.. By doing the time travel deal, he will effectively be able to create future Trek movies which will have no basis on the last ten, except for his. Pretty fucking smart. Kinda like the alternate realities in Back to the Future 2.

Going to see it tonight, not in IMAX... I'm not a Trekkie (although I like Sci Fi) and this will be the first Trek film I see... and I'm going to see it with a Trekkie. It'll be interesting :mamoru:

excellent. I would never get tired of watching awesome sci-fi movies like this. On IMDB JJ is already developing the 2nd one.

And if people are unsure if they should go see it, the best way I can entice you is that if you enjoyed star wars, you will LOVE this. This is better than Star Wars imo and i liked star wars a lot
