I am skinny fat, trying to lean up. I am following PUR's diet more or less (same foods, but different times, and less).

I am also following PURs routine. I go 100% every time.

What would be a better routine to follow?

I was in rio de janeiro at the time and i decided to concentrate on drinking, fucking bitches and smoking weed. Didnt have time for 100 push ups/200 squats

I lift hard. I got compound movements, but I notice purevl's routine doesnt have dead lifts :dunno:

    uh? :ugh:

So todays only my first day, but I barely feel any burn. Is this normal?

As opposed to purevl's routine where I come out the gym and the muscle group I worked on that day is totally toast.

    well, harder is relative.

low volume + heavy weight = hard but you won't leave there feeling pumped/swollen

    Strength (5x5) vs. mass (Purevl)
5/3/1 is a good routine you may want to look into as welll...

you can go as heavy as you want, if you're doing 1 rep squat/bench/deadlift, you are never going to get as "pumped" as you would doing 10 reps to failure.

    period.

warm up more. you're not going to get some big as pump in your quads like you would for doing 5x10 on squats, but you'll get one. Your assistance exercises will get ya too.

    yea if that works, :bigthumb:

i used to do reps of 12/10/8/6/4/2, raising the weight each set. i might go back to that one of these days.

Unless you've outgrown either program and require specialization (doubtful), both will make you bigger and stronger.

I feel like 5/3/1 is a solid middle-of-the-road routine where you do a get a combination of strength training and a decent pump out of the accessory work. I also like the organization of the 3-day routine which means you only do each lift once every 9 days rather than the same day every week... that way I always feel fresh when doing my lifts because I've had a ton of time to recover.
