Went for a car wash last night, and noticed this on my roof when I got back. It does not seem to want to come off. It almost disappears when wet, but then comes back when dry.

Maybe ScottWax can shed some light..
I live in Toronto, so I can't use any products that require warm temp. 80% of the time the car is sitting in my underground garage (condo) as I walk to work.

I am guessing it is a water stain or bird droppings.

Any of the polishes in the detailing EDU and product list should be fine to try in the cold. Hard to say from the pictures if that will polish out or not. There is a detailer in your area listing in the pro detailer's list. If you can't polish it out on your own, he could probably look at it and let you know if it will come out at all.

Thanks Scott, I appreciate the reply. You kinda have me worried now. "if it will come out at all." :hs: Any idea what it could be?!

    Thanks again.

No way to really tell from the pictures. If whatever it is etched the surface and has eaten through the clear, you are SOL. If it is on top of the paint, it might be able to be polished off.

It's that crap of the spray on wax they use that leaves the nasty residue.

Glad that came out. That's why we stay away from car washes. :bigthumb:

Big time! I was dreading a new paint job. Thanks again for your advice.

That scratch x 2.0 is powerful stuff.

    I completely understand that.

Try Optimum No Rinse (ONR), Bucket & sponge. Problem solved.

that's why you should do the ONR. no hoses or anything. fill the bucket up in the sink and go to town!

edit: I've washed cars in parking garages, in my tint shop with carpet, hell, I've even washed cars on the showroom of the stereo shop I used to work at!
