On my PC, i used putty to create a ssh tunnel to my ubuntu box at home. This way, I can use torrent or check email from behind my campus firewall. The setup is pretty easy in putty, but I'm having a hard time doing it with osx's ssh.

Here's an example of the syntax im using:

    ssh -L 3389:compathome.com:3389 [email protected]

I'm able to connect to it, and the ssh prompt comes up, but when I set firefox to tunnel traffic to a certain port, it doesn't work.

I also used SSH Tunnel Manager, but still not working. Maybe it's cuz I dont know which ports are what?

Here's the tutorial I used for PC: http://thinkhole.org/wp/2006/05/10/howto-secure-firefox-and-im-with-putty/ so if someone could help translate to osx, that'd be great :)
