If I'm thinking of the same truck, the SS never made it into production.

THe silverado SS is pretty badass. They have one at my dads dealership and want 37,000 for it. It seems pretty cool though, the AWD setup looks neat as well. I'm not sure its worth the money though, not unless it puts down some good times. They did have 4 or 5 of them at the NASCAR race this weekend as track vehicles though, it was neat to watch.

there are 3 at nash chevrolet in snellville, GA.

there's a dealer in AZ that's making a dealer option for a supercharger and some other goodies. i'll find the site and post it for those in the southwest who want something better than the measely SS, but still want a silverado that kicks ass. it puts out 410 hp at the rear wheels, and lays down a 14.3 sec. 1/4. not bad for such a heavy bastard. anyways, i'll post it in a second.

I think the SS and all the 2003 Silverados are ugly. The previous front end looked so much better than the angular shit they have now.

It also doesn't say anything about the handling performance.

That's where the new Lightning will kill the SS. Lightning will have IRS, 500hp/500torque from an SC'ed 5.4L. (if they don't deviate from the concept too much).

Nice. Last summer I was up at Berger Chevrolet and the had three modified Silverados on their lot. Pretty basic stuff: cat-back, cowl hood, reflashed ECM. With the 5.3L they were dynoed in the 320 range. Not much, but they were nice looking regular cab sport sides.

The SS did make it into production, in AWD form. But not classified as a sport truck.
