GUN Srsly, how hard is it for a novice to assemble an upper?

    It's not that hard at all. Just get the right tools: A proper armorer's wrench, vise block, and set of punches.

    was just looking at the Brownell's instructional....maybe I can get the parts assembled in sections

    just held a Sig 556 pistol with that guard....very nice.

  9. I found a place selling it online that said it adds a pound to the weight of the rifle. I can't find anything that gives a weight by itself, but I figured it would have to weigh quite a bit to add a pound. Shit, my DD Omega only added a couple of ounces over my plastic handguards.

    Yeah, 13 or 14 ounces is probably pretty on, it distributes itself fairly well.

    I guess that just doesn't seem like a ton. The DD Omega is very light for what it is though.
