So, I don't post here often. I do more lurking and learning. I've been consistent in the gym for about a year now and I've seen some good results. I'm one of few who acutally squat, and deadlift in the gym. I've had compliments from some of the older guys who appreciate more than curls. Since I've started, I've been approached twice by two large fellas critiquing my squat form. One claims an 800lb squat, and the other a 575lb squat. They tell me at the bottom of the squat I need to "Pop my hips." It doesn't seem natural to me, and I'd like some insight. I think my squat form is fine, but I've never been coached. Should I get a video, or is popping the hips not really necessary? Cliffs: Do I need to "pop my hips" at the bottom of the squat movement, or is it a personal preference in form? Rookie needs some advice. Thanks.
