A guy at the gym the other day showed me how to do squats on a machine that was premade for them, IE no free-weights. It's a cube like thing with the bar attached to two sides and it has locks to stop the weight when u rotate the bar. I did this for multiple sets over different days and started to get lower back pain. I stopped doing it and my back is better. Should I just stop doing vertical squats as I dont see the need in harming my back? Can someone also explain to me how on earth it could be good for you to put weight on your shoulders and then have it go down through your back vertibrees(sp) CRUSHING them all to your pelvis? Will doing squats on a machine that is at a 60 degree agree from the floor get the same part of my ass, quads, hamis?
