is it okay to use a bench underneath while squating? i have bad knees so i was thinking a safety issue. also thanks to those of you who em'd me asking me to stay here and to ignore the haters who are trying to hold me back.thanks.

i'd imagine taking the pressure off your knees and having it re-applied when coming back up would be worse for your knees than free squatting

    but i don't know! lol!

if the bench is just for safety then use a squat rack instead.

unless you want to do a boxsquat

are you going to be sitting down on the bench? if so that's a box squat
I don't really see the bench as a safety device, dropping the bar seems better than getting pinned on the bench

that makes sense. but isnt there more stress on the knees when you go way down. the bench i was using was of the height just above parralle.also i dont have access to squat racks.
