How do your squat and deadlift weights compare?

My squat is higher than my dead, I've been squatting longer than dl'ing - back before I knew what I was doing :hsugh:

Just wondering how the typical numbers stack up . . .

it is dependant on far too many things to say you should deadlift x and squat y...

it seems to me most people's deadlift is >squat. but the deadlift record is 936 while the squat is 1200. why the difference?

20-ply powerlifting gear....also, bodyweight helps the squat more than the deadlift

ok i'll rephrase, it was ass to grass :o

feet about shoulder width apart, bar placed high on traps, full range of movement. i don't really know what constitutes perfect olympic style but it's what i'm used to calling it as far as the "main styles" go (full squat, parallel, etc)

i break at the knees and use little forward lean if any. it feels like the "natural" way to squat. i only push my ass out backwards if i'm doing box squats

A 400lb squat is only really 'high class' if you are in the lighter weight class. For example one of my coach's best was ~180kg at a bodyweight of 52kg, and he still never made our Olympic team. If he's either a heavyweight or a superheavy a 400lb back squat, while really good, isn't unbelievable by any stretch of the imagination.

Also, we had a junior who's been with our club 2-3 years back squat something between 180 and 185 about a month ago. He's a superheavy though (may have been <105 when he did it though), so it's not impossible.

My deadlift is higher than my squat, but both of them are pathetically weak so that isn't saying much.

I was seeing really fast gains on my squat when i was doing it 3x a week, about twice as fast as my deadlift, but my knees can't take that, so that'll probably slow down now :hs:
