ok... i hope i can explain this properly.

I have two tables, one of which now has orphan data in it. i need to find out how to query that table, joined with the other table, to find out which records are orphaned, so i can delete them.

i tried my hand at a left outer join, but it seems that i messed it up cuz it didnt come back with anything (literally, it just hung there and i had to kill the query).

any help is appreciated... please ask questions if you need clarification.
