Holy shit after about 2hrs and my hand being numb the fucker finally came out
Damn.... That sucks. Did you have a good grip on them in the vise, where you were transferring all the energy strictly to the sight?
After about half that time, I would have been going to the hydraulic press.
You push it out with your fingers or what
Yep was using a punch but that fucker wouldnt bug at all, I wish I had a hydraulic press.
My left hand is still numb
Brass or nylon?
Which way were you drifting it out? What did you use to lube? WD40 or CLP helps as well.
Right to left, I used otis lube and no go
we used meprolight sight tool and popcicle sticks to keep the slide from altering its position. XD sights are a pain. we have the most trouble with XD sights, so much trouble im debating about getting an xd sight pusher just so a 10 minute job will take just that, 10 minutes!
I bent a brass punch trying to remove the front sight on my wife's XD. It's at the smith right now for sight change while we're on vacation.
lol funny, we bent a brass punch too. now everytime someone walks into our range wanting xd sights installed, i make myself disappear so my coworker can do it. lol
these buggers might be the hardest sights to remove!!!
