We just got one in at work from one of our regular customers - thinking of trading my Walther PPS in on it.

Unless its below 600 it can be spent on better more reliable guns

Sub compact 1911 platform, I take it reliability isn't the most important factor for you.

I'd rather have a Kahr personally. A good friend has one, and it's went back to Springfield and still is kinda *meh*. Chokes on JHP's that aren't powr'balls far too often to be a real carry gun.

I personally would go with a 3" in ACP, actually I think that may be my next firearms purchase.

What is your purpose for it?

I thought it was the sub-comp reg size 1911's that were supposed to have reliability probs, and that the redesign from the ground up to be smaller was supposed to fix that...??

I don't have anything against the springer, and I can see the attraction of a smaller frame 1911, although I think if I were going to spend money on one (it'd have to be well south of $1k) I think I'd rather have it in .40.

Besides price, I have a buddy that's had one for over a year and he absolutely loves it. He carries it all the time.
I've shot it, and it's a very nice gun.

It is, compact .45 1911s generally have issues.
The EMP was built from the ground up for 9mm, and later incorporated .40 S&W. They're extremely reliable.

I've had one of those. I don't like the idea of only a 3" barrel for an already slow .45 acp round.
