So I'm now thinkin' bout going ball to the walls and going active. Ok here's teh thing...(start laughing now) I'm interested in Force Reconnaissance and security forces (you may continue laughing).

Yes, yes I know 99% drop out rate and anyone can try out for recon. I have my reasons. Just speaking to alotta current/former military, they tell me to make the most of my time and grab every opportunity I can. That's why I wanted to learn more of the UZ option. My recruiter told me as of now it's been frozen.

Funny, at first he thought I said UV and started talking bout security forces. First thing that popped in my mind was Accord. :mamoru: And he got me interested in it.

I said I still want infantry. He told me that there are no more slots open in the san diego district. And the best way to get infantry is to go as an open contract. Let me know what you think about that? And please correct me at any point.

    Cliffs:
    -thinking of going active

-Tis no0b thinks he's hot shit and wants recon or mscf

-no more infantry. recruiter says go open contract to get it.

    -Should I go Navy infantry?

    I am a bit confused.

    What exactly are you wanting?
If they don't give you what you want, then why go open contract?
I guarantee you will get screwed if you do. Don't believe that you get a choice on anything after you enlist. The choices are right now while you are negotiating your enlistment. If you don't sign for what you want now, it almost definitely won't happen.

    Another thing.......Navy Infantry?

lol. hmm, I guess that rumour of an infantry for the navy never got to teh barracks.

Just want your opinion, guys. Particularly on that open contract idea. I'm probably not going to go in like that. Talking to you guys for awhile now has helped me to know that, as myself still being a civilian, is pretty much my only bargaining chip. So here what I want:

    If possible the uz option.
    Above all, infantry.

Another questions i'm confused on. If anyone can try the indoc for recon, why is there a recon contract (uz)??

I thought that's what the Marines were for. :dunno:

    good call. VERY good call.

Then push for that and don't accept anything else. You lose the instant you decide to settle for something you didn't really want. You lose BIG time the instant you decide to gamble on an open contract.

It helps the deppers develop an ego? :dunno:

TRN = Peter North = TRN. He went through a gender change or something and changed his name a while ago. :mamoru:

There is a former recruiter around here somewhere, but I don't remember who it is.

    Navy Infantry = USMC

If you're referring to the Naval Riverine Force...that's not infantry...and you'll be in for a huge shocker if that's what you think.

    Exactly.
And they will actually try to throw you a bigger bonus for open contract too.
I will tell you from the experience of others, it is not worth it. Not worth it at all. No matter what branch. You will end up having to settle and you will hate it.

Before you get sworn in, make sure you get exactly what you want.
Remember. They want to get you into the military. That is their job. So tell them exactly what you want and what it will take to get you into uniform.
