Split muscle workout vs. Upper/Lower split

    What are the advantages/disadvantages/performance differences between these two styles of routines?


    I kind of want to switch it up but I want to know what I'm going to be getting into.

    muscle groups shouldn't need 7 days to recover from a workout.

    upper/lower twice per week.
