I used to play basketball a lot before I lifted weights (~2 years ago)...I used to guard the smaller, quicker guys even though I was 6'3" 180lb. I started lifting weights for aesthetic reasons because I had stopped playing basketball.

I started playing basketball in an adult league recently. I can not only guard the quick, small guys now, but I'm able to guard bigger guys (6'6" 250lb) with relative ease. I think they're a bit surprised when I move them around under the basket

This is called the Charles Barkley effect.

Amazing how far behind basketball is when it comes to realizing the potential for strength benefits.

6'6 250 must just be fatasses if a 6'3 200 lb guy could shut them down, especially in the block, on my weekends i play with all the old guys, 6'10, 6'9, 6'9 and i can usually post them up and get a decent shot off... and i measure at just under 6'4...

If I had to guess I'd say 15% body fat and 22-23 years of age. He was really athletic and could dunk easily...I never let him though :mamoru:

Explosive jumping, I tried out for the local sheriff and we had to jump over a 7 foot wall. I jumped over it without barely touching it and all the fellow recruits gasped in amazement :bigthumb:
