So far.... it's.... I dunno. I don't think I like it. Web shooters back, no more Avengers, Aunt May's alive, MJ's gone (Jackpot!), continuity is all twisted. I hope they sort things out soon.

I agree with half of the reviewers that said they'd love this book if they didn't know much about spidey continuity.

It wasn't great, but it just feels so forces.

Yeah, I guess if you were a new reader, it'd be a nice book to jump into, but what about us? :o

There's going to be so many plot holes because of this....there's no way that this can really make sense without completely rewriting much of the last 20 years of Spider-Man continuity...

what i got from this comic is that without MJ, peter parker is a douche bag.

he acts like some frat boy who spent 7 years in college struggling to get his degree in liberal arts because he refuses to grow up, and has exhausted all of the indirect nepotism that comes along with fraternities.

this guy is what? 25-28? broke, unemployed, waking up late, partying all night, living with and leaching off his aunt, depends on friends for money, and getting him a place to live while his aunt works to 2:00 AM IN THE MORNING!

dude has no sense of responsibilty let alone independence. This guy is a LOSER. instead of resurrecting Harry they should resurrect Uncle Ben to put a foot in his worthless ass!

this comic was also like a bad episode of 90210...i'm boycotting.

this has to be the stupidest idea in the history of story telling in any format ever.

What does it mean on sale 3 times a month?

    3 issues per month?

If that's it I guess they'll turn it into some sort of a dream or whatever and be back to reality in no time. :dunno:

the cancelled the other two spider-man books (friendly and sensational) and adopted a 3 times a month format. granted, it's not just dan slott and steve mcniven doing everything, it will have backup stories, and stories other writers and artists can do.

    it'll do ok, i think.

What I got from it was that he had been living on his own, making a living by selling pictures of Spider-Man to the Daily Bugle like always. But since Civil War, in this continuity he's apparently stopped being Spider-Man (remember, in this continuity his secret identity is still secret), so his primary source of income has dried up.

That only strengthens my argument that he is a loser, douche bag, etc. Before civil war he was a teacher or working for Stark...so basically without M.J. he is too stupid to make a better career move on his own, and too stupid, and lazy to find a job in 100 days. WHAT HAS HE BEEN DOING? Sleeping in late and partying all night?! what did Joephisto erase the guilt of his dead uncle too?

And whats his motivation for not joining the registration act now? He has a lot less to lose and worry about in BND than before.

you can't defend this bull crap.

I was really hoping to see how Spiderman/Peter would get pass the crap, that is his life, after the Civil War. That's what I like about Spiderman, never giving up no matter what and doing the right thing.

This Brand New Day is just stupid. So the whole "The Others", "The Avenger" arc are gone? Fuck, Peter was becoming a better hero, and now he's back to being a loser (as M.E. has pointed out).

And MJ being Jackpot, can they be more obvious?

    Very disappointed.

i actually liked the webshooters. they were a nod to his own brilliance and they give him that added layer of vulnerability b/c he has to use a "weapon" to be at his most effective. as for the comic, idk, i didn't read spider-man b4 OMD, and i honestly dont have much of a reason to start now with BND

it's just annoying. a few years with peter having organic webshooters..... he used to be able to web someone up with ease, but now he has to rely on the mechanical ones :o

i was spoiled by the organics

    :dunno:

But i'm hoping it'll be saved from itself by the new crews. Otherwise it's just a failure. I'm sticking on for a few more issues to see if it's worth it, but most likely not. I think i'm going to go DC soon, they can atleast tell a story worth telling... With the exception of Countdown.

Yeah, i'm hoping it'll turn around. I downloaded the entire series up to last week to catch up and hopefully this new war will actually have some ramifications outside Earth 51.

I agree, it's just sad that Marvel's gone down the shit-hole. Last great story they had was Annihilation, and the new Conquest just ain't doing it for me. Best two stories of the decade if you ask me was Annihilation and Sinestro Wars.
