I tried to detail a car today which had tons of white specs all over it. I was using DACP and the specs were not coming off nor were they getting smaller in size. other cars i've done the specs have come of but not on this car. The owner said the specs have been on the car since he bought it which was in March. It also seemed like the specs were trapped on there. I'm not sure if the car was repainted but there was tons of orange peel. Would these specs have to be buffed out?

    the car is a Mistubishi 3000gt VR4.

    any thoughts?

Overspray clay should work. If Clay Magic doesn't work, you will probably have to order their red clay bar that is specifically for paint overspray. Meguiars also has an overspray bar in their Body Shop Pro line. Just be forewarned, it is $25 and hella sticky!

BTW, if the specks won't come off, he should get personalized plates that say "CERTS" since his car is covered in specks. ;)
