    im running win7 and IE8

i downloaded some file today that I think was a virus/spyware/etc..., im really not too sure...but it was labeled jpg but was actually a exe :o

anyways after running it, for some reason only the piratebay.org website crashes IE8, Chrome and Firefox.

And when i run IE8 it will show 3 iexplore.exe running in Task Manager and when I end the one using the most memory, it says in IE8 "this tab has been recovered...."

Ive downloaded malware, spy doctor etc... but doesnt seem to fix it. its not really that big of a problem, but IE8 seems like its running much slower.

I also did a windows update today but doubt that is it.

any suggestions? im about to just reinstall WIN7 :wtc:

kimsland might I ask what you do?

I won't feel bad if you don't answer, considering the bad start we got off to in LAOT :mamoru:

I'm convinced that kimsland is a Terminator sent here to one day destroy OT so that we will be unable to stop SkyNet from ending the world as we know it.

    or maybe it's Kim Komando?

kim, you should consider just running your site on drupal or wordpress and allowing open comments on posts. easier to maintain than a whole forum.

You don't want to know. (the specifics)
For the most part I post on free forums usually only supporting in computer issues.
But I also have a leniency to post on christian websites and evetually get banned, for being open minded (in my view)

drupal hey. Ok that ever came up in a support post. I better look it up!

    @CLOT, how did it go?

drupal can be difficult to set up the first time you use it, but it's really no more difficult than wordpress.. the admin options are just more spread out.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drupal
    http://drupal.org/

You should use version 6. If you have a shared host, your host probably has a 1-click installation option for both Drupal and Wordpress.

I love Drupal. I actually haven't used it since last year, but I got a couple projects and I'm going to need to develop a few modules, so I'm happy to be getting into it again.

They're also coming out with the third edition of "Pro Drupal Development" that will cover Drupal 7. Haven't used it yet, but it seems to keep becoming more and more bloated after every release. :(

It's not out yet. It won't come out until April.

I'm still waiting for a good module development book covering a lot of API usage. We'll see.
