thoughts on this simple little card?
gray linen paper, black raised ink lettering.
its too simple....i don't know what it is about the card, maybe the font, but something amiss, maybe the format!..
not much help i guess.
Way too simple to be a "photographers" business card. Doesn't catch the eye, and its not artistic. Most people see photography as an art, and I guess they expect the card to be along the same lines when it comes to creativity.
yeah, thats true, and i'm kind of struggling there.
What i'm sure I don't want is a glossy card with a photograph on it. Other than that, i'm not sure where to go...
I figured i'd try the simplest route first, and see where it was lacking...
personally, I did the glossy card with a photograph route on it and wish I had a simple one like the one you have. I would probably make it matte black with white font or something, but I want simple next time
here's my simple business card.
saw that on flickr.
who did the printing for you? what finish?
Even a stock image of a camera or film in that open space would make it better.
thanks, i just ordered the standard non-gloss finish from overnightprints.com. i just ordered 100 of them for now and used the coupon code BC100 (100 free business cards). i got rounded corners (+$2), but i think they would look better w/o rounded corners so i'll not do that next time.
I really like the minimalist design with just the right amount of color
I dont see rounded corners
if you're going to go simple, go ultra simple, like tits card.
you could delete the part telling people that it's your phone number, etc.
damm talk about a rip off on shipping
no doubt son, i paid around $11 for 100 cards. i'm sure there are better deals elsewhere, but i didn't want to get 1000 or something until i knew i liked the design in print. even then, i'd kinda like to rotate a couple different designs.
but yeah, shipping is insane at ~$10.
I might just blatantly rip that card off.
Mine looks incredibly similar
I'd try a different typeface. I'd purchase a font as opposed to using a free web front. Font choice is very important. As well you have the contact information right aligned and web, email and phone left which looks akward.
here's mine. the real one has my number on it. I post this jpg on myspace comments and shit.
ha, thats the first thing I thought too
"I can't believe he prefers Van Pattens card to mine..."
I thought this one was cool.. it's printed on semi-transparent plastic.
Seems so many on the net use satin black w/ green...weird.
that's fucking awesome.
Where can I get cards printed with semi transparent ?
note mine also has green with grey lol
green w/ grey/black ftmfw.
