um, there is nothing in any price range that uses optical outputs

You fail to mention what vehicle you have... or at least what size. Also what amp are you using?

    Klipsch Promedia 2.1 THX > GMX-A

for the price you got the GMX-A at Apple you could've got THX ones anywhere else like NewEgg

    I found my Harman/Kardon Sound Stick II's for $120 (new) through Amazon.com.

I think they sound very crisp & the bass also excellent. Not bad for the price + they are look nice.

im not a big fan on how they look. plus, i'd prefer to get a pair of studio monitors, not satellites with a separate sub.

I actually fell in love w/the design of the sub. The satelites will forever be strap-on's w/cock rings to me.

But these damn cocks sound good.

I actually bought some M-Audio Studio Monitors and the next day, I blew the tweater. :naughty:

So I took them back and ended up getting the GMX-A's and they are awesome! Not studio monitors but they'll do just fine!

Look into the Swan M200's. They are within your price range (currently on sale at Newegg!), and are some of the best speakers you can buy for that price - they sound better than the Klipsch, and the Klipsch are some of the best speakers around! There is no sub, but then thats what you'd expect with a pair of monitors. Beware, these things are huge!
