ok ever since i hooked up this 4 channel amp, my speakers make a whine, when i rev the RPM it whines louder with the rev, when i have the car on ACC, there is no whine...

    - i checked my RCA cables switched them with new/different ones... still get the whine.
    - i changed the ground wire to a bigger gauge, i still have the whine...
    - theres a ground wire for the headunit, when i grounded that, the whine seems to lessen, but its still there noticible when i rev the car...
    - my 2 channel sub amp is ok, no whine on that one
    - i made sure all the wires are on the opposite side of the power cables
    - i took my car to the stereo shop, they wanted $80 to fix it, and they said its the way the wires are hooked up, wouldnt tell me what though.

    can anyone help me?

are your amps grounded to the same spot? try that first, usually does the trick

ok, i fixed the problem, OT member ALVIN helped me with the problem here!!! basically, pioneers have a shitty ground system in their head unit, so i had to strip some speaker wire, wrap it around the RCA female terminals behind the headunit, and ground it to the headunit's chassis. worked like a charm. thanks alvin!! anyone whos tried everything, try this and this would mostlikely work if you have a pioneer headunit.
