I just got Service Pack 2 installed, which ended up messing with my StyleXP. I ended up getting the new patch for StyleXP, but Visual Styles wouldn't appear when I click on the theme icon, just the usual default XP style.

I ended up downloading the new uxtheme patcher from Neowin.net, which was supposed to get things settled, but for some reason, I still can't get themes to show up when I click on the theme icon from the style zips I've downloaded.

If anyone can help me out with this, your help is appreciated.

You may have an incompatible SP2. Where did you download yours? The UXtheme patcher works fine for me.

Did you use v2.0 of the patcher?

I used the 2.0 patcher, which wouldn't still work for some reason, but I just did the uxtheme.dll replacement manually and now everything's good.

you don't need StyleXP google for Patch XP, which will lead you to multipatcher. It patches that .dll file and let's you run themes even if you don't have StyleXP or whatever.
