it seems as though my soundcard is causing my system to crash. i don't really want to get a new soundcard since mine was very expensive, it's an audigy 2 zs platinum pro.

i've updated all the drivers and it still doesn't work. any insight?

Have you tried disabling the sound card and just using the on board sound? I would imagine that would be the easiest way to pin point what the issue is.

i pulled the soundcard out, and i wasn't having any issues. on second thought, it could be my motherboard though. it's a PT800CE-A or something like that.

Have you updated any of the other component's drivers lately?

everything, i bought a new motherboard after doing some research on the one that i had, and now my hard drive crapped out. fucking windows xp registry or something is corrupted. can't load windows properly, gotta spend all night fixing that.

hopefully the new mobo will fix my restart issue. google came up with a lot of people complaining about the restart issue.
